Somalia Marks July 1 with Traditional Horse and Camel Parade in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU(SONNA)-Hundreds of residents gathered in Mogadishu on Wednesday as horse riders and camel caravans paraded through the capital's main streets to commemorate Somalia's Independence and Unity Day on July 1.
The procession, featuring horses and camels adorned with traditional decorations, formed part of official and public celebrations marking the anniversary of Somalia's independence and unification.
The event showcased Somalia's rich cultural heritage and traditional customs, while honoring the sacrifices made by those who fought for the country's independence and unity.
Authorities said the parade was intended to reinforce national identity, celebrate Somalia's historical legacy, and promote pride in the nation's cultural traditions during the annual July 1 commemorations.
