Prime Minister, Hamza Opens Somalia Diaspora Centre

Mogadishu(SONNA)-H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, was today welcomed at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation by H.E. Abdisalam Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, before officially inaugurating the Somalia Diaspora Centre.
Built with the generous support of the People’s Republic of China the Centre will strengthen engagement between the Federal Government and Somali communities abroad and support the implementation of the National Diaspora Policy.
The Prime Minister described the Somali diaspora as one of the nation’s greatest assets, commending its contribution to development and its role in preserving Somalia’s faith, culture, and mother tongue worldwide. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with Somali communities abroad.
H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, emphasized the importance of building the confidence and trust of Somalia’s diaspora communities through stronger engagement. H.E. Wang Yu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Federal Republic of Somalia, on behalf of the Chinese government said that the relations between the two friendly nations is getting stronger.
The Federal Government of Somalia expresses its sincere appreciation to the Government of the People’s Republic of China for its generous support in establishing the Somalia Diaspora Centre.
