Health Minister Addresses 12th Turkish Medical World Congress in Istanbul

ISTANBUL (SONNA) – The Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Ali Haji Adam, has participated in the 12th Turkish Medical World Congress in Istanbul, Türkiye, following an official invitation from his Turkish counterpart, Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu.

H.E. Dr. Ali Haji Adam delivered an address at the opening ceremony, highlighting the importance of strengthening international health cooperation, improving healthcare services, enhancing the capacity of health professionals, and harnessing research and modern technology to build resilient healthcare systems.

The Minister also underscored the longstanding brotherly relations and strategic cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye, particularly Türkiye’s role in supporting and developing Somalia’s healthcare services.

Held from October 29 to 31, 2026, the congress brought together health ministers, experts, researchers and officials from various countries to discuss medical advancements, innovation and international cooperation in addressing global health challenges.
