Eldoret, (SONNA) – Somali Ambassador to Kenya, Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle, recently visited Eldoret in the Rift Valley region, home to a large Somali community, for a combined encouragement and information-gathering trip.
The Ambassador and his delegation met with business leaders who play a significant role in the regional economy, particularly in fuel exports and other commodities, employing thousands. He toured major markets in Eldoret, including the “Little-Islii” market, and Somali-run business centers.
A welcoming ceremony was held in Eldoret last night, where the community expressed their joy and support for the Ambassador’s visit. Community leaders briefed him on challenges they face, particularly in travel and trade, and agreed to establish a committee for continuous liaison with the Embassy.
The Ambassador thanked local leaders and residents for their warm reception, noting the progress of the Somali government and the positive relations between Kenya and Somalia.
