Nairobi, (SONNA) – The Ambassador of the Federal Government of Somalia, to Kenya, H.E. Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle, along with members of the Somali Embassy in Nairobi, took part in a vibrant cultural event celebrating the 12th anniversary of a leading Somali research and reading center in the Kenyan capital.
The center, established to promote Somali heritage, literature, and unity, has become a vital platform where generations connect through storytelling, poetry, debates, visual arts, and cultural exhibitions. It plays a key role in preserving Somali identity and transmitting the nation’s rich oral history to future generations.
During the celebration, volunteers who have helped sustain the center’s mission were honored with certificates of appreciation for their tireless work.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Jabril said, “I was deeply moved by the stories and reflections shared tonight — a powerful reminder that our culture is alive and thriving.”
Ambassador Jabril, alongside Marwo Fardowso Jama Yusuf, personally presented the awards to individuals who have contributed significantly to the center’s continued success.
