Ambassador: Foreigners including Somali students are safe and sound in China

Mogadishu(SONNA)-Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, H.E. Qin Jian said that Somali Students in the Corona-virus hit city of Wuhun and all foreigners in China are safe, informing parents not to worry about their children, SONNA reported.

“The Chinese Government cares foreign students as its own children. Chinese Government at all levels have established various services and guarantee mechanisms to provide consulting services, open hotlines, conduct psychological counseling, provide free masks, protective articles and guarantee food supply”, Mr. Jian said in press conference held in Mogadishu on Wednesday.

Mr. Jian noted the Somali students and many other foreigners decided to stay in China and fight the epidemic by sharing a message of solidarity with Chinese during this difficult time, saying the government did its best control the disease.

“At present, the epidemic has been effectively prevented and effectively achieved”, He said.

The Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, Qin Jian concluded his speech that China actively supports other countries in fighting the epidemic and provides emergency assistance.

However, the Corona-virus infected to more than 95,000 people globally and over 3,280 deaths and while 50,000 of those people have already recovered.

China, South Korea, Japan, Iran and Italy have the largest cases, but the virus spread to many other countries in Europe, America and Africa respectively.
