Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation of the Federal Government of Somalia on Monday held a high-level meeting focused on ensuring the delivery of efficient and quality services to the Somali public, in line with the Ministry’s long-term strategic vision.
The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, H.E. Mohamed Farah Nuh, and was attended by the Deputy Minister, the Director General, and all departmental directors of the Ministry.
The primary objective of the meeting was to strengthen effective service delivery, enhance institutional performance, and reinforce coordination in accordance with the Ministry’s long-term goals.
During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening working relations between senior leadership and departmental directors. He received a comprehensive briefing from the Director General of the Ministry, Mr. Omar Ali Afrah, who presented detailed updates on the smooth implementation of the Ministry’s day-to-day operations.
The Director General also outlined key plans, including the modernization and rehabilitation of the Ministry’s headquarters, as well as the long-term strategic framework for the development of Somalia’s transport and civil aviation sectors.
Minister Mohamed Farah Nuh commended the Director General and departmental leadership for their dedication and hard work in serving the nation. He issued key directives to departmental directors, including the need to improve service quality, accelerate priority initiatives, develop clear operational plans and strategic targets for the year 2026, and strengthen inter-departmental coordination to achieve tangible results.
The meeting concluded in a spirit of consensus and shared commitment, with Ministry leadership and staff pledging to intensify their efforts toward advancing the performance and development of Somalia’s transport and civil aviation sector.
