Beledweyn, (SONNA) – The Somali National Army (SNA), alongside local forces are intensifying a large-scale operation in the eastern part of Hiiraan region aimed at eliminating extremist groups.
The operation, primarily conducted in the Beera Yabaal area, resulted in the elimination of 16 Al-Shabaab militants. On the previous day, forces successfully captured several strategic locations, including Beera Yabaal, Buur Abooto, Eega Galmaay, Jidcilaan, and Cadow Gureey.
The operation is being led by General Khalid Abdullahi Omar, Commander of the Somali National Army’s Ground Forces, with support from the President’s Special Envoy for Regional Forces, Ali Jeite Osman, and Colonel Abdullahi Omar, Commander of the 27th Division of the SNA.
The campaign aims to fully liberate the country from extremist groups and ensure lasting peace and security for Somali citizens.
Officials have confirmed that the operation will continue until all regions are cleared of militant threats, reaffirming their dedication to stability in Somalia.
