Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Salah Ahmed Jama, conducted a motivational visit to the central headquarters of the National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) and held a productive meeting with the agency’s leadership, including Chairman Mohamud Moallim Abdulle, the deputy chairman, senior officials, and staff.
During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister was briefed on the current drought situation in the country, ongoing relief efforts, disaster risk reduction strategies, resilience-building initiatives, public awareness campaigns aimed at preventing humanitarian crises caused by internal conflicts, as well as the achievements and challenges faced by the agency.
Mr. Salah commended SoDMA’s leadership and staff for their dedication to fulfilling their responsibilities in managing disasters on behalf of the Somali government. He urged them to intensify their humanitarian efforts during this critical period of drought, emphasizing the importance of their work in alleviating suffering and fostering resilience.
