Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud received H.E. Selma Malika Haddadi, the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, at the Villa Somalia. The meeting underscored the strong and historic ties between the Federal Republic of Somalia and Algeria.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to fostering robust bilateral relations with Algeria, emphasizing the need for continued cooperation on regional and global matters.
Discussions also centred on the upcoming tenure of both Somalia and Algeria as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. The President and Ambassador Haddadi underscored the importance of working closely to promote regional peace, stability and development, ensuring that the interests of Africa are well represented on the global stage.
