Israeli forces attacked a school that was being used as a field hospital and a shelter in central Deir el-Balah, killing at least 30 people, including 15 children. The attack overwhelmed Al Aqsa hospital, with a doctor describing “catastrophic” scenes there.
A rocket attack on young people playing football in the occupied Golan Heights killed at least 12 people from the Druze community. Israel blamed Hezbollah, but the Lebanese group denied all responsibility.
A trauma surgeon who worked at a hospital in Gaza’s Khan Younis accused Israel of deliberating targeting children. “We regularly saw, on a daily basis, children shot in the head and chest,” said Feroze Sidhwa.
At least 39,258 people have been killed and 90,589 injured in Israel’s war on Gaza. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, and more than 200 were taken captive.
