Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Somali National Army conducted clearing operations in the forests of the areas between Bay and Bakool regions of the Southwest State of Somalia destroying bases of the Al-Shabaab terrorists.
The areas destroyed by the army included an area where the Al-Shabaab terrorists used to recruit young fighters who they misled and a road used by the locals between Bay, Bako and Gedo regions.
The Commander of the 8th Brigade, Lieutenant Ahmed Sheikh Abdirahman told the national media that the army destroyed bases of the terrorist militants and are on pursuit of the remnants who fled into the bushes
