Cairo, Egypt – The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed Somali Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Ali Abdi Awaare.
During a formal ceremony at the league’s headquarters in Cairo, Ambassador Awaare presented his credentials to Mr. Aboul Gheit, marking the official commencement of his duties within the esteemed regional organization.
Ambassador Awaare expressed his gratitude towards the Arab League for its instrumental role in supporting the Somali government’s rebuilding efforts. He reaffirmed Somalia’s dedication to reclaiming its influential position within the league, emphasizing the country’s readiness to enhance collaborative efforts and actively contribute to the league’s initiatives.
The meeting also witnessed the presence of the Mauritanian Ambassador, who attended the General Assembly of the Arab League, signifying the collective commitment of member states to the league’s mission and objectives.
This development comes as a prove to the strengthening relations between Somalia and the Arab League, as both parties look forward to a future of mutual cooperation and shared progress.
