CAIRO (SONNA) Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E Mohamud Abdi Hassan, and the Somali Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Ilyas Sheikh Omar, Concluded a meeting, discussing Somalia’s armed forces transitional plans to take over the overall security of the country in Cairo, Egypt SONNA reported.
Hassan Mohamed Saa’ed, The director-general of the Somali Ministry of Defense, who is a member of the technical committee working on the SNA’s plan to take over the overall security in the country, said he had met with members of the international community who specialize in peacekeeping, military training, and funding.
He added that members of the international community had been briefed on the reached agreement with AMISOM about the process taking over the security responsibilities by SNA and working on securing the funding and support for the implementation of the program.
