The Director-General of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of the federal government of Somalia, His Excellency Abdullah Hayr Du’ale, launched today, the broadcast of the Italian language on Radio Mogadishu, Voice of the Republic.
The Director-General said: “Today, on Saturday, corresponding to January 1, 2022, we will resume the start of broadcasting the Italian language on Radio Mogadishu,” adding that there are two bulletins broadcasted by Radio Mogadishu currently, which are Arabic and English.
On the 16th of December, the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism in the Federal Government, His Excellency Osman Abukar Dube, signed an agreement with the Italian Ambassador to the country, His Excellency Alberto Ficki, to develop Radio Mogadishu, Voice of the Republic.
It is worth noting that the Italian language was broadcast on Radio Mogadishu before the fall of the central government in 1991.
