What was the importance of Harardhere for the Kharijites ?!

The city of Harardhere, with its rich historical heritage and status of autonomy in the central regions, held a strategic significance for the Kharijites. The importance of Harardhere for the Kharijites can be broken down into five key points:

  • Exportation and importation of international criminals through nearby commercial ports.
  • Dissemination of weapons and explosive materials through the same commercial ports.
  • Recruitment of child soldiers taken from their families.
  • Intimidation of local tribes through spreading messages of intimidation.
  • A considerable source of income through the exploitation of herders, farmers and fisherman, and a large land area where many people live.

The capture of Harardhere dealt a considerable setback for the Kharijites, disrupting their primary conduit for the distribution of weapons and criminals, resulting in a significant loss of revenue and a major production center for child soldiers. Furthermore, it resulted in the loss of control over several tribes and their leaders, ultimately undermining the Kharijites’ grip on central regions.

Moreover, the capture of Harardhere had a significant impact on the stability and security of the region, as the Kharijites had been utilizing the city as a base for their operations, including terrorist attacks and smuggling. The loss of this strategic stronghold likely impeded their ability to plan and carry out such activities.

Additionally, the city’s commercial value was also affected as the Kharijites had been known to extort and tax local businesses, and the loss of this revenue stream likely resulted in a significant financial blow to their operations.

The capture of Harardhere also had positive implications for the local population, as the recruitment of child soldiers and the intimidation of tribes had

a devastating impact on the people living  in and around the city. The Kharijites’ grip on the city also made it difficult for the local population to access basic necessities such as food and medical supplies. The liberation of the city brought much-needed relief to the local population and allowed for the restoration of basic services.

In summary, the capture of Harardhere was a strategic victory of paramount magnitude for the opposing forces, as it disrupted the Kharijites’ main route for the distribution of weapons and criminals, caused a significant loss of income, resulted in the loss of a major production center for child soldiers, and undermined the Kharijites’ grip on central regions. It also brought stability and security to the region and relief to the local population.
