Mogadishu (SONNA):-The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, has congratulated all members of the Somali National Army and their families on the 60th anniversary of the formation of the National Army.
The President pointed out that a strong and effective army is vital to our nationhood and the regeneration of our country, and that the government has taken a decisive step towards the reform of the Armed Forces.
“The Armed Forces are our national symbol and stands for defending the national sovereignty. We are still not where we wanted to be, but as a government, we embarked on a plan to reform and rebuild our army”, President Farmajo said in a statement.
The Somali National Army was established on April 12, 1960 marking such anniversary to remember our gallant heroes.
