Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre and his Deputy, Salah Ahmed Jama sent their condolences on the death of Captain Ahmed Haji Ilmi Gure, who was one of the pilots of Somali Airlines and the founder of the news website Hiran Online, who passed away last night in Canada.

The Prime Minister noted the role played by the deceased in the development of the Somali language and how the Somali community could get news based on facts, at a time when the country was in a difficult phase, describing him as a hard-working, neutral and upright person, and standing for the development of his country.

“To Allah we belong and to Him is our return, captain Ahmad Haji Ilmi Gure was a pilot, journalist and philanthropist who worked for the benefit and development of the Somali community, and the sadness and grief are shared by all the Somali people, especially the family, relatives and the press community that he left,” PM Hamza added.

“Ahmed, who was my friend for a long time, was known for his hard work, intelligence, seniority, and love for his country. He used his career for a long time to develop the awareness of the Somali people, and that he had relentlessly created a forum for discussion and information that is free from bias and personalism,” Deputy PM Salah said.

Mr. Hamza prayed to God to make his abode in Jannatul Fardowsa, and to give patience and faith to his family, relatives and the press community and the Somali community in general.
