Mogadishu, Somalia – The Minister of Interior, Federation, and Reconciliation of Somalia, Honorable Ali Yusuf Ali-Hoosh, held a significant meeting today with a delegation from Finland. The delegation was led by Mr. Pirkka Tapiola, the Ambassador of Finland to Somalia, and included Mr. Jussi Tanner, Director General of Consular Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, and Nelli Mikkola, Deputy Head of Mission of the Somalia Office of the Embassy of Finland in Nairobi.

The meeting, which took place in the Minister’s office, focused on several critical issues, including elections, the ongoing war against the Khawarij, and stabilization efforts in Somalia. Both parties engaged in productive discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation and addressing the pressing challenges facing the country.

Minister Ali-Hoosh expressed his appreciation for Finland’s continued support and commitment to Somalia’s development. He emphasized the importance of international collaboration in achieving sustainable peace and stability in the region. “Our partnership with Finland is crucial in addressing the multifaceted challenges we face. Together, we can work towards a more stable and prosperous Somalia,” said the Minister.

Ambassador Pirkka Tapiola reiterated Finland’s dedication to supporting Somalia’s efforts in these key areas. He praised the Somali government’s initiatives and expressed Finland’s willingness to provide further assistance in enhancing electoral processes, combating terrorism, and promoting stabilization. “Finland stands with Somalia in its journey towards peace and development. We are committed to supporting your efforts in every possible way,” stated Ambassador Tapiola.

The discussions also highlighted the need for continued efforts to strengthen the capacity of Somali institutions and improve governance. Both parties agreed on the importance of building resilient systems that can effectively address the country’s security and development needs.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to furthering cooperation and exploring new avenues for collaboration. The Finnish delegation’s visit shows the strong ties between Somalia and Finland and the mutual desire to work together towards common goals.

This engagement marks a significant step in enhancing the partnership between the two nations, paving the way for future initiatives that will contribute to Somalia’s stability and growth.
