The meeting aimed to reinforce the ongoing partnership between Somalia and Turkey, focusing on financial reform plans and Turkey’s continued support for Somalia’s development.

Minister Bihi Iman Ige emphasized the importance of financial reforms in driving Somalia’s economic growth and stability. He expressed gratitude for Turkey’s significant role in supporting Somalia’s efforts to rebuild its economy and enhance various aspects of national development. “Turkey has been a steadfast partner in our journey towards economic recovery and development. Their support has been instrumental in achieving our goals,” remarked Minister Ige.

Ambassador Alper Aktas reiterated Turkey’s commitment to aiding Somalia’s development initiatives. He praised the Somali government’s dedication to implementing comprehensive financial reforms and highlighted the shared vision of fostering sustainable economic growth. “Turkey remains committed to supporting Somalia’s development agenda. Our collaboration aims to bring about positive changes that will benefit the Somali people,” stated Ambassador Aktas.

The discussions covered a range of topics, including the implementation of financial reform plans, strategies for economic diversification, and measures to improve fiscal management. Both parties acknowledged the importance of transparency, accountability, and good governance in achieving successful reforms.

Turkey’s support extends beyond financial reforms, encompassing various development projects that address critical needs in Somalia. These projects include infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and capacity building. The partnership between Somalia and Turkey continues to yield tangible benefits, contributing to the overall progress and prosperity of the nation.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations and explore new avenues for cooperation. Both Minister Ige and Ambassador Aktas expressed optimism about the future of Somalia-Turkey relations, underscoring the importance of collaboration in achieving shared goals.
