Somalia’s Foreign Minister Receives Condolence Message from IGAD Executive Secretary

Mogadishu, SONNA – His Excellency Foreign Minister Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi has received a heartfelt message of condolence from the Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, following the passing of Minister Fiqi’s mother on Saturday. In the message, Dr. Workneh conveyed his deepest sympathies on behalf of IGAD and its member states, extending sincere condolences and expressing solidarity with Minister Fiqi and his family during this period of grief.

Minister Fiqi expressed his profound gratitude for the support and kind words from Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, reaffirming the close relationship and ongoing cooperation between Somalia and IGAD. The two leaders emphasized their shared commitment to advancing regional peace and development.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia has expressed its appreciation for the widespread condolences and support received from international partners and friends during this time of mourning.
