MOGADISHU, SOMALIA –Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Salah Ahmed Jama, inaugurated a pivotal conference aimed at dismantling radical ideologies that have influenced the nation’s youth.
Organized by the TUBSAN National Center, the quarterly meeting of the Forum for Coordinating Activities to Prevent and Combat Violent Extremist Ideas (PCVE) brought together key figures and stakeholders in the ongoing battle against terrorism.
During the forum, Mr. Salah emphasized the critical need to challenge and deconstruct the terrorist-based ideologies propagated by Khawarij groups, which have historically misled Somali youth. He highlighted the comprehensive measures his government has implemented to diminish the Khawarij’s influence across economic, ideological, and military spheres.
These efforts have yielded positive outcomes, as evidenced by the growing number of Somali youth rejecting and denouncing the extremist beliefs instilled in them. The government’s proactive approach marks a turning point in the fight against terrorism, offering hope for a future where peace and stability can flourish in Somalia.
