Mogadishu, (SONNA) – Somalia’s Second Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Abdisalan Abdi Ali, chaired the inaugural meeting of the National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC), a body consisting of 18 members representing various government ministries and agencies.
The meeting focused on Somalia’s progress toward joining the World Trade Organization (WTO), a strategic move expected to create substantial opportunities for economic growth and development.
Second Deputy Prime Minister Abdisalan Ali urged committee members to foster strong collaboration and capitalize on available opportunities, highlighting Somalia’s active membership in major regional and international trade and economic organizations.
This milestone meeting underscores Somalia’s commitment to advancing its trade and economic reform agenda and integrating further into the global economy.
