Mogadishu (SONNA)The number of COVID -19 cases in Somalia rose Sunday 7th of March 2021 to 8,321 after 280 more people tested positive for the disease.
Somalia’s Ministry of Health said 280 people were confirmed to have tested positive for the disease out of 1,966 people tested in the last 48 hours.
The new cases are from Puntland,Banadir Region, Somaliland and Jubaland.
Puntland region is the most hit with 133 new positive cases.
Out of the 280 new COVID cases , the Ministry said, 177 of them are male and 103 female.
The number of fatalities rose to 302 after 8 more patients succumbed to the virus.
Somalia had banned large gatherings and suspended learning institutions for two weeks as part of COVID-19 prevention measures.
