Mogadishu (SONNA)-The Federal Republic of Somalia is on Tuesday recalled its Ambassador to Ethiopia, Abdullahi Mohamed Warfa for a consultation while so-called Memorandum of Understanding between Somaliland and Ethiopian Government over maritime access which is against the sovereignty of Somali territory.
The Somalia’s Cabinet Ministers, who held an extraordinary meeting on this issue, described Ethiopian Government’s interference into our domestic issues was a violation against the country’s sovereignty and International norms, calling for the United Nations, African Union and all International Organizations to intervene the situation.
The Cabinet has firmly rejected Ethiopia’s ‘Memorundum of Understanding’ with Somaliland, says the deal is “null and void”, and has no legal basis.
The Somali government says Ethiopia’s move is a “naked aggression” that violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia.
“Ethiopia’s actions threatens good neighbourliness and peace and stability in the region”, Government Spokesperson, Farhan Jimale said.
The MoU outlined that the Somaliland, northwest of Somalia Exchanged 20KM Sea For Recognition From Ethiopia, a violation against sovereignity of Somalia.
