Mogadishu, SONNA – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, laid the foundation stone for a new passport issuance center in Boondheere district, Benadir Region, Mogadishu. The center, operated by the Immigration and Citizenship Agency of Somalia, aims to enhance passport service delivery and make government services more accessible to the people.
In his address, Prime Minister Barre commended the agency’s leaders and staff for their dedication. He emphasized their commitment to serving the Somali people and building a large, modern central facility. The event was attended by notable figures, including the Minister of Internal Security and the Governor of Benadir Region.
This passport center is part of a series of initiatives to facilitate passport acquisition for citizens across the country. The agency plans to extend its reach to all regions, ensuring that no one is left behind. The Danish Government’s support has been instrumental in realizing this project, reflecting their commitment to improving services for the Somali people.
