Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Commander of the Somali National Army, General Odewa Yusuf Rage had a sideline meeting with the Kenyan National Army Commander, General Robert Kariukiwho arrived in Mogadishu today, they discussed the bilateral military relations and strengthening cooperation in the fight against the Al-Shabaab terrorists who are a risk to the peace of both nations.
Gen. Kariuki applauded the offenses of the SNA with the support of the local forces, and the eradication process that the army has done so far and the other areas they are conducting operations in Somalia.
He said, “the Kenyan army who are among the African Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) forces will take an enormous part in the fight against the Al-Shabaab terrorist militants”.
Gen. Odewa thanked his Kenyan counterpart for showing support, and the Kenyan government for their solidarity with the Somali people.
