Mogadishu, Somalia – Somalia’s Minister of Transport and Aviation, H.E Fardowsa Osman Egal, alongside the Director General of the Ministry, Mr. Bashir Moallim Ali Hassan, engaged in strategic discussions with Mr. Jean Todt, the esteemed Special Envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations for Road Safety in a virtual meeting.
The session focused on reinforcing the partnership between Somalia and the United Nations to bolster road safety measures. The meeting centered on the Ministry’s proactive initiatives to prevent road accidents and the critical need for establishing comprehensive road safety legislation.
Emphasizing the mutual commitment to safeguarding the lives of Somali citizens, the parties concurred on the urgency of reducing traffic-related incidents. The establishment of robust road safety laws is anticipated to significantly enhance public safety across the nation.
