Mogadishu (SONNA)-Somali National Army’s elite forces on Wednesday preempted a car bomb in which the militants intended to wage attack in the capital and arrested some militants during an operation in Gendershe area in lower Shabelle region southern Somalia, SONNA reported.
Commander of the Somali Special forces’ Danab, Ismail Abdimalik Malin said that they got a concrete intelligence report about the al-Shabab militants preparing a car filled with explosives and were planning a dangerous plots , SNA took a swift action against the terrorist successfully.
“We have managed to preempt suicide car bomb attack, and we arrested the terrorists, and recovered other explosives in a special operation at Gendershe location about 30 Km south of Mogadishu. We will continue the operations aimed at fighting the enemy”, Mr. Malin said.
SNA’ S Danab forces continued to conduct operations against the Al-Qaeda linked militant group, Al-Shabaab in the region.
