Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hamza Abdi Barre launched the Prosperity Project which is implemented by the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development with the assistance of the World Bank, and is estimated to cost millions of dollars which will focus on the development of the Somali community, particularly in rural areas, agriculture, livestock, and the environment.
Officials of the Ministry of Planning briefed the Prime Minister on the successful implementation of the previous phase, called “Biyooley,” and the plans for the next five years, including a focus on environmental conservation. PM Hamza expressed his satisfaction with the successful utilization of the previous phase by the Somali people and praised the efforts of the Ministry of Planning.
The Prosperity Project, which will continue for several years, is seen as an opportunity to benefit the Somali people and their livestock by addressing water shortages, particularly during the difficult winter season. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of preparing for the winter and ensuring that the community and animals have access to water.
