MOGADISHU, SONNA – In a decisive joint operation, the Somali National Army (SNA) and the United States Air Force (USAF) successfully neutralized 10 Al-Shabab terrorists attempting to gather near the border between Lower and Middle Jubba regions of Jubbaland State. This swift action effectively thwarted the militants’ plans and marked the second successful counterterrorism operation in the region this week.
Earlier this week, a separate operation targeted a high-ranking Al-Shabab leader in Middle Jubba, further crippling the terrorist organization’s leadership structure. These recent successes come amidst intensified efforts by the Somali government and its international partners to dismantle Al-Shabab’s networks and combat its violent extremism.
