Mogadishu, (SONNA) – 117 Al-Shabaab terrorists were killed in a operation carried out by the Somali National Army and Galmudug regional forces, with the support of airstrike from Somalia’s international security partners in Donlaye, near Amara town.
The commander of the Infantry of the Somali National Army General Mohamed Tahlil Bihi confirmed to the Somali National News Agency that the fight lasted for 8 hours and the militants were heavily defeated.
”The Khawarij were driven out of their trenches and were not allowed to take their wounded soldiers let alone the dead. We are currently in pursuit of the remnants that fled into the forest after the heavy loss”, Gen. Bihi said.
