Mogadishu (SONNA) – The Somali Federal Government and IGAD regional organisation have launched a comprehensive analysis of the “Blue-Economy” strategy in Mogadishu.
The three-day conference, organised by IGAD and the Federal Government aims to discuss the best ways to stabilize the country’s economy and capitalize on its marine resources.
The conference was attended by high-level officials including the State Minster of the Ministry of Fisheries, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and representatives from the central government, regional government, and the IGAD organization.
State Minster of the Ministry of Fisheries emphasized the significance of the conference for Somalia and highlighted the potential for the country’s economy to reach new heights with the right economic strategy in place.
Mr. Guled Cartan, the director of ICPAC-IGAD spoke about the importance of the meeting for Somalia, stating that hosting such a meeting is a testament to a progress made in the economic production process of Somalia.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Abshir Omar Jama “Huruse,” discussed the potential for Somalia to benefit from its marine resources and overcome its economic challenges.
The conference, which concludes on Monday, is expected to yield several key points that will serve as a legacy for the country’s economy and pave the way for sustainable growth and development.
