Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Somali Diaspora Investment Forum has opened today in Mogadishu, the conference will discuss the role of Somali diaspora in investing in the country.
The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Diaspora Communities and was attended by heads of government agencies, businessmen and various sectors of society.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, H.E Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, who opened the forum, said that foreigners made a strong contribution to the country’s investment, the development of community life and the country’s defense.
The Minister noted that the diaspora are ambassadors and a mirror for the Somali people in the countries they are in and have made significant progress and raised the reputation of the Somali people.
On the other hand, Minister Fiqi said that the government is giving great importance to foreigners who are returning to the country and investing in the country.
