Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Commissioner of Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mohamud Moalim Abdulle took part in the launch of Somalia 2024 Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) held in Mogadishu. This event aimed to address the critical needs of the region and provide a better, more effective response plan for the future
The Commissioner also said, “Over 80% of the displaced are women and children who face serious protection risks. We must help and improve their lives, making them more resilient.
Working with local organizations to reach out to the most vulnerable is crucial. They are the first to respond in disasters, and supporting them is necessary”. The Commissioner appealed to all FGS allies for help in providing necessary resources to save lives.
The United Nations Deputy Secretary-General George Conway, mentioned in the 2024 Humanitarian Needs Response Plan that by collaborating on charitable activities, the parties can strengthen their goals, which will ultimately help reduce needs and risks.
A group of dedicated individuals and organizations came together to attend the meeting focused on humanitarian affairs. The attendees included State Government Ministers, charity organizations, donors, and heads of UN organizations dedicated to supporting charitable causes.
