Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has dispatched 11 trucks carrying humanitarian aid from Mogadishu to the regions of Ceelcali Axmed and A-lkowsar in the Middle Shabelle region. This mission comes in response to a recent suicide attack by insurgents in the area.
The humanitarian aid includes essential supplies such as food, medicine, tents, and other vital materials intended to support approximately 15,000 displaced families affected by the ongoing violence.
SoDMA Chairman, Mohamud Moallim Abdulle, sent off the convoy from the outskirts of Mogadishu. He emphasized the agency’s commitment to delivering similar assistance to any region that manages to liberate itself from insurgent control. He specifically praised the resilience of the communities in A-lkowsar and Ceelcali Axmed, as well as the national forces who recently thwarted insurgents’ attacks in these areas.
This initiative reflects SoDMA’s ongoing efforts to address humanitarian needs and support communities recovering from conflict in Somalia.
