Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Somali National Army conducted operations in Northern Hiran Region ,SONNA reported.
The commander of the 5th brigade Mohamud Hassan Ibrahim confirmed to the media that the areas where the operation took place were Mataban and Mahas districts of Hiran region.
During the operation, the troops managed to reach out the Alshabab hideouts and assured to erradicate them in their hidding places.
The areas visited included Omaad and Madhooy under Mataban district and other areas.
This operation comes as the militant group Al-Shabaab recently managed to gain access between Hiraan and Galgadud regions.
