Riyadh (SONNA) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced on Saturday the return to normal life in all regions and cities of the Kingdom starting from Sunday morning (21 June 2020), after nearly two and a half months of coronavirus restrictions.
In a statement, the Interior Ministry affirmed the need for individuals’ full commitment to observing all the preventive protocols approved for all economic and commercial activities, including social distancing, wearing face masks and no gatherings of more than 50 people. It indicated that these measures are subject to periodic assessment and review by the Ministry of Health.
The statement noted that Umrah and visits to the holy sites as well as international flights and entry-exit across land and sea borders remain suspended until further notice, adding that these measures are subject to periodic review in light of health developments.
The statement stressed the need for all citizens, residents and employees to have a sense of responsibility, and abide by the precautionary and preventive measures, in addition to the directives issued by the competent authorities. It also urged everyone to download the “Tawakkalna” and “Tabaud” applications on their smartphones, given their great importance in facing the COVID-19 pandemic and keeping individuals dated on all health instructions, guidance and developments about the spread of the virus.
