Mogadishu(SONNA)- Puntland, Galmudug States on Monday launched the second phase of road construction project in Galkacyo town in Mudug region as the city seemed to be recovering from old wounds and damages at moment, SONNA reported.
President of Puntland State, Said Abdullahi Deni and Galmudug State Minister for Security, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi laid the foundation of the project namely ‘Peace Road’ in the city, in attendance with officials the two administrations.
“Together with @AhmedMoFiqi, Galmudug Minister of Security, we jointly launched phase two of the ‘Peace Road’ construction project in the city of Galkacyo. The ‘Peace Road’ will connect both north and south parts of the city”, Mr. Deni said in a tweet.
He added that this project will contribute to the peace and stability in Galkacyo, promoting social cohesion, and strengthening collaboration between Puntland and Galmudug states in Somalia.
Galmudug State Minister for Security, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi said on his Facebook account that the city with integrated officials made new history, referring the construction of the road project there.
“Peace is the key of Development and Unity is the key of success for better life and prosperous society”, Mr. Fiqi added.
This is a new dawn of raising hope for Galkacyo city in Mudug region as division and barriers disappeared and two regional administration are committed to jointly work peace and development.
