Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal government of Somalia, H.E Hamza Abdi Barre urged the people to work on the unity, security, and development of the country.

Prime Minister Hamza who was speaking at an event held in the Yaqshid district of Mogadishu thanked the committee that worked on the independence week and said that the improved security of the country and in the capital suggests more safety because of the place the event was held last night.

“The fact that we are in Yaqshid district at this hour reflects the change in the security of the capital. We are on the way to victory, especially the people of Mogadishu, there is hope that the fear of the terrorists has gone from our hearts. If we want to win against the terrorists, we must remove their fear from our hearts,” said PM Hamza.

The Prime Minister said that our country has been put behind by favoritism for the past 63 years leading to corruption and crooked politicians, but the government is taking strong measures to eradicate corruption and bad governance.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the Somali people are tired of conflicts and there is a need for political solutions that do not lead to guns and tribal conflicts, and he called for cooperation to end the conflicts in Gedo, Puntland, Hiiraan, Las’anod, and the Southwest, while noting that the most important role in peace belongs to the traditional elders who solved the problems of our country through dialogue during the period of civil war.
