Mogadishu, SONNA — Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre addressed the nation last night, providing an update on the ongoing National Consultation Meeting in Mogadishu. In his speech, the Prime Minister highlighted significant progress made during the 10th session of the National Consultative Council (NCC), focusing on critical national issues.

Among the achievements, Barre underscored the acceleration of efforts to combat corruption, emphasizing the government’s resolve to bring transparency to public institutions. He also noted advances in the liberation of regions still under terrorists control, the ongoing reconciliation within the Somali community, and crucial discussions on the Somalia’s upcoming elections.

Discussions among the attending political leaders are continuing, with a press statement expected once the talks conclude. The Prime Minister expressed optimism about the outcome, hoping it will pave the way for further unity and progress.

In his remarks, Barre reaffirmed the government’s commitment to preserving Somali unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also stressed the importance of preventing any actions that could sow division, calling for collective efforts to maintain national cohesion during this critical time.

The NCC Meeting, bringing together key leaders from across the country, is viewed as a pivotal step toward resolving Somalia’s political and security challenges.
