The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, accompanied by his delegation on a strategic one-day visit, engaged in high-level talks with his Kenyan counterpart, President William Ruto.
The summit, marking a significant stride in bilateral relations, centered on reinforcing the security framework along the Somalia-Kenya border. Both leaders deliberated on collaborative measures to bolster the ongoing war against terrorism, with a keen focus on the regional stability and neighborly solidarity.

President Ruto underscored Kenya’s unwavering support for the Somali government and its people in the collective crusade against terror. He emphasized the urgency of crafting a cohesive strategy to dismantle the terror networks plaguing the region.

In a gesture of gratitude, President Mohamud lauded the Kenyan government and its citizens for their hospitality. He highlighted the enduring alliance between the two nations, underscoring the necessity to intensify cooperation in the face of Al-Shabaab’s terror, a formidable impediment to the region’s progress and the well-being of its inhabitants.

The Nairobi dialogue reaffirms the shared resolve of Somalia and Kenya to confront and eliminate the specter of terrorism, thereby paving the way for a future of peace and prosperity for all.
