Mogadishu, Somalia — The President of the Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mahmud, attended the graduation ceremony held at Turksom School to honor officers who recently completed their training and joined the ranks of the Somali army.
During his address, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud emphasized the gravity of their responsibilities, urging the officers to approach their duties with sincerity and utmost patriotism. He stated, “The greatest gift one can give to their country is their life—the ultimate sacrifice. You are willing to lay down your lives for Somalia and its people. We are at war with an immoral and narrow-minded enemy.”
The President expressed gratitude to the Turkish Government and its President for their substantial contributions to the establishment of the Somali Government. He presented certificates and awards to the 6th batch of officers who underwent rigorous training over a period of three years.
The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Defense, Abdiqadir Mohamed Noor, as well as General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhuddin, the Commander of the Armed Forces, and other dignitaries. Notably, the graduating officers represent various branches of the military, including the navy, land forces, and air forces.
This event marks a pivotal moment in Somalia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its armed forces and enhance national security. The commitment and sacrifice of these officers shows their dedication to safeguarding the nation and its people.
