Afmadow, Lower Jubba Region – The President of Jubbaland, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Islam, and his delegation were warmly welcomed today in Afmadow district. The district administration and hundreds of local residents gathered in the centre of the district to greet the President and his team.

The visit is part of an ongoing effort to accelerate operations by the Armed Forces of Somalia and Jubbaland, which have recently achieved significant victories against Alshabaab. The President’s trip underscores the commitment to maintaining and expanding these successes.

In recent days, the roads between Kismayo and Afmadow have been reported as completely cleared of Terrorist groups, marking a significant milestone in the region’s security efforts. This development is expected to enhance safety and facilitate smoother transportation between the two cities.

The President’s visit highlights the collaborative efforts between the national and regional forces in their fight against terrorism, aiming to bring lasting peace and stability to the region.
