Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud who spoke to the Parliament last night said that Ethiopia declared an open invasion on Somalia and that the government and its people are united against the invasion of the Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
President Hassan Sheikh said that the illegal agreement that took place in Ethiopia on the 1st of this month is seen by the government and the Somali people as an attack on the unity and independence of Somalia.
“The false and illegal agreement that took place on the 1st of this month in Addis Abba was an invasion of the country of the Republic of Somalia. The existence and status of the Somali people everywhere has been invaded, it is not the people living in the North or the South, it is the existence of everyone. Somalis were invaded,” said President Hassan Sheikh
President Mohamud also praised the feelings shown by all the Somali people towards the violation of Ethiopia and how they rejected the MoU, and said that this reflects the unity of the Somali people everywhere in the country.
“I praise the boys and girls who were shot at, some of them are locked up and deprived of their freedom, they stood up but they deserve better for standing up for their country. We praise them with honor and respect and they will be remembered,” said President Hassan.
The president called on the Somali people everywhere to unite, to defend the nationalism of the Republic of Somalia, he called on the people of Ethiopia not to be fooled by the poor efforts of the Ethiopian government.
