Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H. E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud praised the latest successful military operations against Al-Shabaab terrorists in Middle Shabelle.
“Our armed forces were able to liberate all areas under the Middle Shabelle region. Run-Nirgod was the last stronghold of the terrorists that our forces took control of days earlier”, The President said Friday.
The President stated that Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions under Hirshabelle State were completely liberated while Galmudug State started to drive out Al-Shabaab militants.
He added that military operations against Al-Shabaab will begin in Southwest and Jubaland States as soon as possible.
