In brief ceremony held in Mogadishu the commanders handed over their previous posts and were sworn in to their new posts. The event was attended by army officials and other high-ranking government officials.

Former infantry commander, Gen. Abdihamid Mohmed Dahir  said in a brief speech that he was happy to fill his new post as the navy commander, he swore to pick up from where his predecessor has left and push the navy to new heights.

General Abbas Amin Ali thanked his counterpart for the considerable progress he made to the Infantry unit. He said he was inheriting an organized unit and promised to improve even further.

The Somali National Army Chief, Gen. Odowa Yussuf Rage closed the ceremony with a speech. He told all the army and navy personnel that their duty was to serve  the nation and no matter which post or assignment they should selflessly deliver their best.
