Istanbul (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo met with the President of the Council of the Presidency of Libya H.E Mohamed Yunis Al-Menfi at the Third Turkey-Africa Cooperation Conference.
President Farmajo and President Menfi discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between Somalia and Libya and how the two countries can work together in the areas of transportation, security and politics.
Meanwhile, the President discussed with the Libyan President on how he could assist in the liberation of Somali nationals detained in Libya, and the two agreed to work together for the safety of Somali citizens inside Libya.
The Federal Republic of Somalia will soon send a special commission to look into the situation of the Somali detainees in Libya. The Commission will monitor and report on the conditions of our citizens.
