Mogadishu(SONNA)-President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo on Saturday arrived in Juba, the capital of South Sudan to join regional leaders witnessing the signing peace agreement between transitional Government of Sudan and the Sudanese Revolutionary Movement, SONNA reported.
South Sudanese President, Salva Kir extended president Farmajo a warm welcome when landing at Juba Airport.
Somalia takes active role for the diplomatic effort in finding peaceful solution to the conflict between to our brotherly country of Sudan and armed groups in the west and south of the country.
“Somalia observes neighborhood, and works the peace of East African region, in order, to strengthen the cooperation and development of brotherly peoples”, The Communication office of the Somali President said in statement.
President Farmajo’s visit to Juba comes after receiving official invitation from his counterpart of South Sudan, Salva Kir to join the event of signing peace deal between the sides of Sudan there.
