Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hamza Abdi Barre met with WHO’s Eastern Mediterranean Regional Director, Dr. Hanan Balkhy, for a critical dialogue on enhancing Somalia’s health system resilience.
Emphasising recovery and reconstruction, the Prime Minister underscored investment in human capital and a robust health workforce as key to the nation’s socio-economic transformation, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
From the WHO’s perspective, Dr. Balkhy committed to supporting quality healthcare, aiming for progress in global rankings through improved health governance, workforce development, and enhanced healthcare outcomes, including reduced mortality rates.
